One defendant in federal meth case released from custody

One of three men charged with methamphetamine trafficking after a raid last week at a home east of Lawrence has been released from custody, federal prosecutors said Tuesday.

The other two men remain detained, said Jim Cross, spokesman for U.S. attorney Lanny Welch.

Anthony Sims, 57, was released on undisclosed conditions, Cross said. Donald Steele and Randy Dyke, both 50, remain behind bars.

All three are charged with conspiracy to manufacture, distribute and possess with the intent to distribute more than 50 grams of methamphetamine.

Their arrests were in connection with a raid at 1706 N. 1500 Road, Steele’s residence and business, All Seasons Tree Service.
