A 46-year-old Lawrence man reported Wednesday the theft of a weapon and ammunition from the 500 block of East 22nd Terrace.
According to police reports, the incident occurred sometime between Dec. 13, 2009, and Jan. 27, 2010. The man reported a semiautomatic rifle and two ammunition magazines were stolen. The total estimated loss was about $1,040.

It was one of those "assault rifles" and it was taken by Al Queda...
