How to Help: Audio-Reader seeks garden administrator

Audio-Reader is looking for a new volunteer garden administrator of the Audio-Reader Sensory Garden. The administrator should have exceptional gardening skills and work well with others. Duties would entail overseeing the general maintenance and upkeep and also helping recruit new volunteers and manage existing volunteers. To volunteer, contact Brenda Bryant at 864-4634.
Immediate needs
• The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program (VITA) is seeking help at the Centro Hispano.
The Centro Hispano and Kansas University are once again collaborating to offer tax assistance to Latino families who come to the center. VITA clinics will be conducted at St. John the Evangelist Church during February, March and April. Dates will begin in late February and will be announced soon. Tax preparers and interpreters are asked to contact Lydia Diebolt at ldiebolt@centrohispanolawrence.org. Training will be provided. Fluency in English and Spanish is not required (except for those volunteering to be interpreters!).
• The Roger Hill Volunteer Center is seeking a volunteer with knowledge of Dreamweaver 2004 to help with Web site updates. Please contact Lori Johns, director, at info@rhvc.org or 865-5030.
• The Lawrence Community Theatre is currently searching for volunteers to help with a number of programs. Volunteers are needed to help with the acting companies, puppetry workshops and the “School’s Out, Theatre’s In” programs.
