As summer winds down, “Ghost Hunters” (8 p.m., Syfy) returns with a sixth season of new episodes. Tonight, Jason, Grant and the rest of the Atlantic Paranormal Society travel to Cooperstown, N.Y., home to the Baseball Hall of Fame. It’s also the location of the century-old Otesaga Hotel, a grand vacation spot that has been owned by the same family for its entire existence.

Apparently, the owners aren’t the only ones who want to stick around. Both guests and staff have reported strange apparitions and doors being blown open without explanation. One maid reported someone calling her name when there was nobody around. A guest reported a “mournful” moan coming from the linen supply closet. Employing their patented high-tech gadgetry and technical paranormal jargon, the “Ghost Hunters” crew set out to find out whether the Otesaga has guests who refuse to check out.

• Five years after Hurricane Katrina, “Frontline” (8 p.m., PBS, check local listings) looks into charges that the New Orleans police used lethal force on city residents during the crisis and confusion and then proceeded to cover up the homicides.

• The new series “Who the (Bleep) Did I Marry?” (9 p.m., Investigation Discovery) examines tales of romance and marriage that do not end happily ever after. The debut episode recalls the story of an Atlantic City woman who believed she had found true love with a dashing Australian man who proposed after only three dates.

After six months of wedded bliss, she discovered that she was married to a professional swindler and serial bigamist who stole thousands of dollars from his many wives, including her. Next week’s show recalls the infamously troubled marriage of Mary Jo Buttafuoco, who was shot in the head by her husband Joey’s teenage lover.

“(Bleep)” follows a recent trend of shows with implied profanity in its title. The forthcoming CBS sitcom “S! My Dad Says” starring William Shatner has already drawn protests and calls for boycott from parent groups.

• “She’s Got the Look” (9 p.m., TV Land) enters its third season. This show does for the over-35 woman what “America’s Top Model” does for the barely post-adolescent.

“She’s Got the Look” is now set in Los Angeles and hosted by Brooke Burke, not to be confused with Brooke Burns, who is busy hosting “Hair Battle Spectacular” over on Oxygen.

This certainly isn’t the least original competition series ever devised, but it can often seem that way. One hopes the summer success of “Hot in Cleveland” inspires TV Land to move away from such tired and tiresome reality fare.

• Stella doubts a victim’s autopsy conclusion on “CSI: NY” (9 p.m., CBS).

• A pregnant rape victim vanishes from her hospital bed on “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” (9 p.m., NBC).

• Dr. Zahi Hawass’s team prepare to open two sealed tombs on “Chasing Mummies” (9 p.m., History).
