A Kansas University football block party will take place on Thursday, Sept. 2, on 10th and Massachusetts Streets in downtown Lawrence.

The event will take place from 5-7:30 p.m. The 1000 block of Mass. St. will be closed to traffic from 3:30-9:30 p.m. for the celebration.

The event will coincide with KU football coach Turner Gill’s first radio show at Buffalo Wild Wings. Festivities will include a pep rally featuring Gill, the KU Pep Band and a kid’s zone.
