Traffic between Topeka in Lawrence was slowed Monday afternoon because of a two-vehicle accident in the eastbound lanes of the Kansas Turnpike.

According to a report from the Kansas Turnpike Authority, a 91-year-old Topeka man was driving and rear-ended a vehicle driven by a 23-year-old Lawrence man. The Topeka man’s vehicle entered the ditch and caught fire. The driver was transported to an area hospital.

Anybody know anything about the accident at the I-35 end of K-10 this afternoon?

According to the KHP crash log, it was a four-vehicle accident on I-435 EB. Two people were injured. All four vehicles were trying to exit onto 35 at that tricky interchange. I was caught in some traffic from this one, too.

Here's the log link: https://www.accesskansas.org/ssrv-khp-crashlogs/display.do?log=2010-009995
