Man charged with making threat
Douglas County prosecutors have charged a 51-year-old Lawrence man with threatening a woman after she said he followed her in a car Thursday night.
Cuauhtemoc Serrano faces a felony charge of making a criminal threat after police arrested him Thursday night in the 1800 block of West Second Street.
A woman told police at 9 p.m. Thursday she stopped in the 100 block of North Michigan to ask Serrano for directions.
He didn’t help her, but instead got into a car and started following her. Eventually the woman said Serrano pulled up next to her and brandished a knife.
A judge on Friday set Serrano’s bond at $4,000 and ordered him to have no contact with the alleged victim or witnesses. He was no longer in custody Saturday.
His next court appearance is 2 p.m. Monday.
