Police responded late Friday to a report of the sound of gunshots near Holcom Park.

According to Lawrence Police Sgt. Susan Hadl, a large group of people was congregating near the southwest corner of Holcom Park at about 10:45 p.m.

Four females reported a small white car driving northbound on Lawrence Avenue fired four to five shots into the crowd.

No one was reported injured and no evidence was found at the scene.
