Kansas University Medical Center honored two Kansas leaders at its recent annual gala celebration.
Former KU chancellor Robert Hemenway and U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius both received awards at the ceremony.
Sebelius received the Life Sciences Leadership Award, recognizing a significant and sustained effort to advance the cause of life sciences in Kansas and the Kansas City region.
Hemenway received the Distinguished Service Medallion for commitment and dedication to KU Medical Center while advancing its mission and improving the Kansas City community.
