Marching bands to compete Saturday

The Kansas University Heart of America Marching Festival will be Saturday.
The first high school band takes the field for the preliminary round at 11 a.m.
Lawrence High will perform at 12:45 p.m. and Free State High will go on at 4:15 p.m. The final round will begin at 6:30 p.m.
The KU Marching Jayhawks will perform at 9:30 p.m. The awards ceremony will begin at 9:45 p.m.
The competition will be at Memorial Stadium. The public entrance will be at the northwest corner of the field. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students, and senior citizens and preschoolers are free.
