A 41-year-old man was taken by air ambulance to a Kansas City-area hospital in serious condition Sunday night after rolling his car south of Lawrence.

Sgt. Steve Buchholz of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department said emergency crews were dispatched to the scene of the one-vehicle accident about 7:20 p.m. The accident occurred while the man was driving eastbound on County Road 460.

His 1998 Ford vehicle entered the roadside ditch, hit a rock embankment and rolled. Sgt. Buchholz said the man was in serious condition Sunday night.
