Commissioners unanimously agreed to allow a grassy lot at 746 Miss. to continue to be used for parking on Kansas University home football game days.
Angie Blair, the operator of the parking operation, had been told by the Lawrence Police Department to stop the practice because the lot fell outside the Oread Neighborhood.
Commissioners previously had approved a policy that exempted the Oread Neighborhood on KU game days from the city ordinance that cars not be parked in yard areas.
After Blair presented a signed petition from several neighbors saying they did not object to the parking operation, commissioners agreed to allow it.
