Family friend says Richardson was donor

Los Angeles — People.com is reporting that Natasha Richardson’s family has donated the actress’s organs to save other patients’ lives.

Citing a “family friend” it did not name, the celebrity Web site said Richardson’s family had requested her organs be donated after she was taken off life support last week. The report did not say whether any patient had received them.

Alan Nierob, publicist for Richardson’s husband Liam Neeson, said he had no information on the matter.

Richardson died March 18 of a head injury that caused bleeding on the brain after a fall during a beginners’ ski lesson in Montreal two days before. She was buried at a private ceremony in upstate New York over the weekend.

Haggard says he suggested divorce

Denver — Disgraced pastor Ted Haggard says he wanted his wife to divorce him after a sex scandal involving another man, but she refused.

Haggard made the comments in a two-part episode of the syndicated television show “Divorce Court” to be broadcast April 1-2. The show released a partial transcript Tuesday.

Haggard resigned as pastor of New Life Church in Colorado Springs and as president of the National Association of Evangelicals after a male prostitute from Denver alleged a cash-for-sex relationship with him in November 2006.

Haggard confessed to “sexual immorality.”

Ted Haggard said he wasn’t rejecting his wife, Gayle, but thought he had become so “toxic” that divorce was best for her and their children. He said she replied, “No way. I’m not going to do that.”

Fla. prosecutors giving Smith case new look

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. — Prosecutors in South Florida are taking a fresh look at evidence in the 2007 death of actress-model Anna Nicole Smith.

Broward County prosecutors met recently with authorities in Los Angeles and the California Department of Justice, said a spokesman for State Attorney Michael Satz.

That follows the indictment March 13 in California of Smith’s former boyfriend Howard K. Stern and two doctors on charges of conspiring to illegally prescribe drugs for Smith.

Broward County prosecutors want to see if any evidence in that case might lead to a new investigation in Florida.

Smith died Feb. 8, 2007, in Florida after collapsing at a hotel. She was 39. Her death was ruled an accidental drug overdose.

Isaiah Washington faces eviction

Los Angeles — Isaiah Washington’s landlord has started an eviction procedure against the former “Grey’s Anatomy” star, claiming he owes $100,000 in rent.

Documents filed in Santa Monica, Calif., on Tuesday claim that Washington and his wife have fallen behind on their $20,000-a-month payments on a home in the Venice area of Los Angeles.

The complaint filed by Sandalwood Properties states the Washingtons have not paid rent since November.

The 45-year-old actor lost his role on “Grey’s Anatomy” in 2007 after using an anti-gay slur at the Golden Globe Awards. He has since appeared in a handful of episodes in other TV series.

Actress-author marries composer

New York — The actress who played Winnie Cooper on “The Wonder Years” has gotten married.

Danica McKellar married composer Mike Verta in a ceremony Sunday in the California seaside town La Jolla.

McKellar’s publicist confirmed marriage on Wednesday. It was first reported by People magazine.

The 34-year-old actress and the 36-year-old Verta began dating in 2001 and were engaged last summer.

McKellar last starred in the 2008 Sci-Fi Channel movie “Heatstroke,” for which Verta composed the score. After studying mathematics at UCLA, McKellar wrote two books, “Math Doesn’t Suck” and “Kiss My Math.”

She famously played the elusive young love interest on “The Wonder Years,” which aired on ABC from 1988 to 1993.

Armed man arrested at ‘DWTS’ studio

Los Angeles — A restraining order has been issued against a man authorities say tried to break onto the set of ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” to meet Shawn Johnson.

Court records show an order was issued against Robert O’Ryan, who was arrested by Los Angeles police on Tuesday. According to documents that accompanied the restraining order application, O’Ryan was stopped by security at CBS Studios, the lot where “Dancing With the Stars” is staged, after he jumped on a fence on Monday afternoon.

Police later searched his car and found a shotgun and handgun — both loaded — as well as duct tape and love letters.

A sworn statement by Johnson’s mother, Teri, states that she was told by police that he believed he was meant to have a child with her daughter.

Johnson, 17, is a gold medalist in gymnastics, and one of the celebrity contestants on ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars.”

She is “in fear of her life,” her parents’ attorney wrote in a restraining order application.
