University Theatre announces new season lineup

The works of Shakespeare, Cole Porter and Kansas University collaborators will hit the stage for the 2009-2010 season of University Theatre at KU.

The theater announced its upcoming season last week. On the schedule:

• “Pastiche,” a Friends of the Theatre fundraiser, 7:30 p.m. Sept. 12.

• “The Thirteen Clocks,” musical by Fred Sadoff and Mark Bucci, Sept. 21 through Sept. 27.

• “Macbeth,” by William Shakespeare, Oct. 8 through Oct. 13.

• “The Glass Menagerie,” by Tennessee Williams, Nov. 13 through Nov. 21.

• “Distracted,” by Lisa Loomer, Dec. 4 through Dec. 9.

• “KU Confidential,” a new piece created by KU faculty member Henry Bial and KU students, Feb. 4 through Feb. 13.

• “Arms and the Man,” by George Bernard Shaw, Feb. 26 through March 6.

• Undergraduate student projects “Bedside,” by Tosin Morohunfola and “4.48 Psychosis,” by Sarah Kane, March 25 through April 2.

• “Anything Goes,” by Cole Porter, April 23 through May 1.

In addition, “The Spitfire Grill,” a musical by James Valcq and Fred Alley, and based on a film by Lee David Zlotoff, opens Friday and runs through July 3. Also, “Almost, Maine,” opens July 17 and runs through July 26.
