Storms cause damage, injuries in state

? Storms have generated high winds across a swath of central and eastern Kansas and injured two in Great Bend.

Amy Miller, Barton County emergency management director, said Saturday the injuries were described as minor, including one person who suffered cuts and another who was hit in the head by falling tree limbs.

Miller said it appears straight-line winds hit south of Great Bend shortly after 7 p.m., knocking down power lines and trees. She said officials were studying the damage to determine if it was a tornado. Witnesses said they saw a funnel cloud.
