The English as a second language program at Plymouth Congregational Church desperately needs teachers and conversation partners for students of all English levels. Class times are 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Previous teaching experience is helpful but not required. Immediate needs

• Douglas County Visiting Nurses, Rehabilitation and Hospice Care needs volunteers to deliver informational brochures in Douglas County to physicians’ offices, banks, attorneys’ offices, community agencies and other locations. Volunteers must provide their own transportation but training is provided. If you can help, contact Janice Johnson at (785) 843-3738.

• Habitat For Humanity is looking for members for the following committees: communications, construction, faith relations, family selection, family support, finance, fund development, ReStore and site selection. Habitat’s Web site has descriptions of what the various committees do, at lawrencehabitat.org/getinvolved-committee.htm. Volunteers might expect to commit 1 to 8 hours per month on committees.
