“Now That You’re Dead,” a Free State Studios/SenoReality short film, is nominated for a regional Emmy in the Arts/Entertainment Program category. The horror flick with a film noir twist was shot in Lawrence in 2008. “Now That You’re Dead” stars Jennifer Plas, Meagan Flynn and Aaron Laue, and was directed by Patrick Rea and produced by Ryan S. Jones. This is the second Emmy nomination for Free State Studios, which won the award last year in the same category for the short “Woman’s Intuition.” Both pictures are available from Sunflower Broadband in the short films category of Video On Demand. The 23rd annual Heartland Regional Emmy Awards winners will be announced July 18 at a dual ceremony in Colorado and Oklahoma.
