A 62-year-old man received life-threatening injuries Saturday night, after falling from a flight of stairs outside a Lawrence bar, a fire official said Monday.

Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical officials responded at 11:23 p.m. Saturday, to Johnny’s Tavern, 401 N. Second St., Lawrence police said.

The victim of the fall hit the pavement and was transported by air ambulance to Kansas University Hospital in Kansas City, Kan., said Division Chief Eve Tolefree, spokeswoman.
