Fort Lauderdale, Fla. ? Kelly Hildebrandt is about to marry the man of her dreams — Kelly Hildebrandt.

Like many couples, the two lovebirds have a lot in common; they both love fishing, scuba diving and hunting. But they might never have met if they didn’t have a first and last name in common.

“If we introduce each other, (people) have to think about it for a second,” said Kelly Katrina Hildebrandt, of Coral Springs, Fla. “They say, ‘Wait, you guys have the same name?'”

They met online last year after Kelly Katrina Hildebrandt, 20, a student at Palm Beach Community College majoring in education, searched for her own name on Facebook. She found her namesake was a 24-year-old Texas financial adviser with the middle name Carl.

They got to talking. And no, they’re not related. They made sure of that.

They got to flirting.

“There wasn’t anything we didn’t talk about; we just felt really comfortable,” she said.

They finally met in person in August.

Sharing a name was strange at first, but it’s always a conversation starter, Kelly Katrina Hildebrandt said. He calls her “Baby Doll.” She calls him “Boo.”

“I was actually reading in the book of Proverbs this morning and it said, ‘A woman of noble character is worth far more than rubies,'” Kelly Carl Hildebrandt said. “That entire Scripture (that describes) what a wife should be, I saw in her.”

On Dec. 13, the male Hildebrandt went with his girlfriend to the beach and was using his metal detector to search for objects just north of the Deerfield Beach pier.

The detector went off. She went digging through the sand, where she found a hand-made treasure chest.

At first, she suspected it was a prank, until she saw a gold diamond ring inside.

“He proposed and I said yes,” she said. “I always wanted to get married young, but I never thought it would be like this.”

And while they haven’t picked out names for their children yet, they know one thing.

“They will not be named Kelly,” Kelly Katrina said.
