Traffic is being slowed at the intersection of 27th and Iowa streets after about five gallons of paint were spilled in the intersection.

Lawrence police officers are blocking at least one of the northbound lanes to keep cars from driving through the wet paint.

Lawrence Douglas County Fire & Medical is en route as well.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area at this time.
