Sports important for your health

Editor’s note: Today’s letters to the editor are from Southwest Junior High students learning about persuasive writing.

To the editor:

I think sports are important because instead of playing video games you could be playing baseball outside with your friends. Don’t get me wrong, video games are fun, but you could be playing in that baseball league having fun with your friends and having fun playing the game. When playing sports you are being active and having fun and getting healthier.

If you don’t like a sport, always try a new one be active, have fun learning the sport, have fun meeting new people, and have fun playing the game. Sports are all about fun and just playing the game you can be serious, follow the rules of the game, and still have fun. Parents if your kids are playing a new sport that they haven’t played before; be supportive of your kids no matter how good they are at that sport. Support them as much as you can. When they’re doing something good or they’re on the field cheer them on. Scream as loud as you can and be supportive.
