Area students gear up for 4-H competition

Area children pushed up their sleeves and got to work today during the annual 4-H Skill-a-thon.

Kids of all ages were making everything from dog treats to bird feeders. Even robot’s made an appearance, with help from the Kansas University engineering department.

Organizers say the event gives children a chance to meet new people and tap into their creative abilities.

This is the third year for the event.
