Auditions scheduled for prize-winning ‘Doubt’

Auditions are scheduled for later this month for “Doubt,” a Pulitzer Prize-winning drama being staged by the Lawrence Community Theatre. There are roles for three women (one of whom should be African-American) and one man. The auditions will be 7 p.m. Jan. 12 and 13 at the theater, 1501 N.H. According to the theater, the show about “proactive investigation of truth and consequences is set in 1964, as Sister Aloysius, a Bronx school principal, takes matters into her own hands when she suspects young Father Flynn of improper behavior.” The show, written by John Patrick Shanley, will run from Feb. 26 through March 8. Scripts are available with a deposit at the theater office, and more information is available by calling 843-7469.
