Burris’ support begins to waver

— A group of black ministers who supported U.S. Sen. Roland Burris as he fought to get his job now plan to ask for his resignation following revelations that he tried to raise money for the disgraced governor who appointed him, one of the ministers told The Associated Press on Thursday.

Many of the city’s influential black pastors supported Burris because of his scandal-free reputation — even though he was appointed by then-Gov. Rod Blagojevich three weeks after the governor was arrested for allegedly trying to sell the Senate seat.

Now some of those pastors will ask Burris to resign, according to the minister, who spoke on condition of anonymity because a meeting with Burris had not yet been scheduled.

Given that Republicans have nearly destroyed the world economy, I guess they need something to cheer about.

Whose great idea was it to give home loans to minorites and the poor even though they werent qualified, which lead to this economic mess? Don't strain yourself.

Sorry, Satirical, the echo from the chamber is just too tired. No bank was required to make bad loans to unqualified buyers. Lenders who followed CRA guidelines had many fewer sub-prime loans, and many fewer foreclosures.

90% of the cause of this collapse were the scams perpetrated by the private sector who now want to blame the CRA, which never did anything more than encourage loans to people who had once been redlined.

Just doesn't pass the smell test when a man brings his lawyer to a press conference.

First you claim the Republicans are to blame, but then you said it was the private sector which caused the collapse. I guess it is tough to keep everything straight when it isn’t based on facts. Oh and thanks for the evidence to support your claim, it really help solidify your argument.

"First you claim the Republicans are to blame, but then you said it was the private sector which caused the collapse"

It's nearly 30 years of mostly Republican deregulation that caused this collapse.

"Oh and thanks for the evidence to support your claim, it really help solidify your argument."

The evidence is readily available if you're interested, but probably not in the echo chambers you inhabit.

News flash Bozo, this article isn't about the economy or who caused the problems with it. You are seriously becoming a broken record.
