A 23-year-old Topeka man was taken to an area hospital Tuesday morning after a one-vehicle car accident. According to Kansas Highway Patrol reports, the vehicle was traveling on the turnpike east of Lawrence near mile marker 188 about 9 a.m. when the driver lost control and struck the barrier. A condition update for the man was not available Tuesday night.
