Tropical Storm Danny strengthening

? Forecasters say people in the Bahamas and from the Carolinas north along the East Coast should keep an eye on Tropical Storm Danny, which was strengthening some as it moves toward land.

The storm has top winds near 50 mph and is moving northwest near 10 mph. On Wednesday night, the storm’s center was about 370 miles east-northeast of Nassau, Bahamas, and about 675 miles south-southeast of Cape Hatteras, N.C.

The current forecast has the storm on a path to clip the U.S. East Coast over the weekend, but a storm’s track can be difficult to predict days in advance.

Meanwhile, far out in the Pacific, Tropical Storm Ignacio is weakening and expected to become a tropical depression as it moves northwest with top winds of 40 mph.
