Missouri teen stabbed in Lawrence

An 18-year-old Missouri man was stabbed Thursday night in Lawrence, police said.

Officers said the victim, who suffered non-life threatening injuries, did not provide the location of the stabbing, which occurred sometime between 11 p.m. and midnight Thursday. Lawrence Police Sgt. Bill Cory said the man was in town for a party.

Lawrence police became aware of the stabbing after officers from the Belton, Mo., police department contacted them on Friday morning about the victim, who was being treated at a Belton, Mo., hospital.

The man is from Grandview, Mo., located about five miles north of Belton, Mo., which is located south of Kansas City, Mo. He was transported home by a friend, Cory said.

Cory said the suspect was described only as being a bald Hispanic man.
