Aerosmith cancels summer tour

Los Angeles — Aerosmith has canceled the remainder of its summer tour.

In a statement issued late Thursday, the band’s publicist MSO said “it is with great regret” that the band is canceling the rest of its tour because of injuries that frontman Steven Tyler suffered when he fell off the stage during an Aug. 5 performance in South Dakota.

Tyler broke his left shoulder and needed 20 stitches in his head.

The statement said doctors have advised Tyler to take the time to properly recuperate from his injuries.

“Words can’t express the sadness I feel for having to cancel this tour,” guitarist Joe Perry said in the statement.

The statement said ticket refunds for the remaining tour dates will be available at the place of purchase.

The tour was to include a stop at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo., on Sept 1.

Reality TV’s Omarosa entering seminary

Dayton, Ohio — This may come as a surprise to anyone who has seen her villainous ways on reality TV: Omarosa is entering an Ohio seminary to study for the ministry.

Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth, known for her in-your-face antics on “The Apprentice” and other reality shows, is scheduled to begin her studies at United Theological Seminary in Dayton on Monday.

Ivan Hicks, the school’s associate dean for African-American studies, says Omarosa will spend about two years pursuing a doctor of ministry degree.

Hicks says the Youngstown, Ohio, native has a heart for Christian ministry and has done work on behalf of the homeless and the poor in Haiti.

You’re Bob Dylan? Police want to see ID

Rock legend Bob Dylan was treated like a complete unknown by police in a New Jersey shore community when a resident called to report someone wandering around the neighborhood.

Dylan was in Long Branch, about a two-hour drive south of New York City, on July 23 as part of a tour with Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp that was to play at a baseball stadium in nearby Lakewood.

A 24-year-old police officer apparently was unaware of who Dylan is and asked him for identification, Long Branch business administrator Howard Woolley said Friday.

“I don’t think she was familiar with his entire body of work,” Woolley said.

A second officer, also in his 20s, responded to assist the first officer. He, too, apparently was unfamiliar with Dylan, Woolley said.

The officers asked Dylan, 68, to accompany them back to the Ocean Place Resort and Spa, where the performers were staying. Once there, tour staff vouched for Dylan.

Beckham adding more ‘Spice’ to ‘Idol’

New York — Victoria Beckham seems to be getting used to filling a fourth judge chair on “American Idol,” left vacant by Paula Abdul’s departure.

The former Spice Girl — Posh — was in Boston Thursday to help judge callbacks for contestants who tried out but were invited back for another round, Fox publicist Alex Gillespie said. Beckham was a guest judge last Friday for auditions in Denver, and it was originally described as a one-time appearance.

This is the point of the show where judges give singers a golden ticket to advance to the Hollywood round.

Last week in Denver, Beckham told Fox News she was a huge fan of “American Idol” and nervous about being a judge. “My heart is about to jump out my throat,” she said.

Chalke, 32, recently appeared on “How I Met Your Mother” and in the Lifetime movie “Maneater.” She and Afifi, an entertainment attorney, became engaged in 2006.
