Lawrence police are investigating a sexual assault reported early Friday.

A 20-year-old female Kansas University student was walking south in the 600 block of New Hampshire between 12:30 a.m. and 1:00 when she was attacked from behind by two white males, according to Lawrence Police Sgt. Susan Hadl. The victim alleged her attackers were in their 20s with short hair. The woman told police she was knocked to the ground and sexually assaulted before the suspects fled south.

The woman was transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

As of Saturday evening, police were still seeking suspects.
