Lawrence Police are seeking four male suspects in connection with an early Friday morning strong-arm robbery.

Police were called at 1:16 a.m. Friday to the 1200 block of Ohio Street, where a 20-year-old woman reported her purse stolen.

She had been walking north along Ohio Street with a 22-year-old man when they were approached by four men walking south.

The suspects — two white men and two black men — blocked the path of the male victim, knocked the woman to the ground and stole her purse, according to Lawrence Police Sgt. Susan Hadl.

The suspects took off running northeast between nearby houses toward Tennessee Street.

“We were in the area fairly quickly after the incident but couldn’t find any witnesses to offer any other leads,” Hadl said.
