A Douglas County Sheriff’s spokesman said a 68-year-old Lecompton man was arrested Wednesday afternoon after he showed a handgun to several individuals with whom he was arguing.

Sgt. Steve Lewis said the arrest stemmed from a back-and-forth altercation between several people. The 68-year-old displayed the handgun in the 600 block of Whitfield Street.

The man was booked into jail at 7:24 p.m. Wednesday. Bond was not set.
