Poet’s Showcase: April

Insidious,

spring comes with flowers

then ice.

Here in a blue sky day

there are daffodils,

and soon freezing rain comes

onto glorious flowers

Others have called April

a cruel month,

and it is so indeed

when daffodils have touched the heart

and ice storms make them die,

despite the vernal equinox

and the pain of such as I
