Law enforcement report
¢ Law enforcement officers were on scene in Baldwin City for most of Monday, responding to a report of a woman threatening to harm herself.
Douglas County sheriff’s deputies and Kansas Highway Patrol troopers closed roads around the house southeast of Baldwin City, in the 1800 section of North 100 Road. The incident began at about 1 p.m.
¢ Lawrence Police are investigating a report that a 32-year-old Lawrence man illegally touched a 27-year-old man, who also is from Lawrence.
The alleged aggravated sexual battery occurred in May 2007, police said. A police report was filed earlier this month. The two men knew each other, police said.
¢ A 53-year-old Overland Park man reported $1,000 of criminal damage to his vehicle’s window and hood overnight Friday in the 1300 block of West Campus Road. The make and model of the vehicle was not available in police reports.
Burglaries and thefts reported
¢ A 19-year-old Kansas University student reported the theft of a television, a video game system and several video games from the 1600 block of Tennessee Street. The 32-inch Vizio television is valued at $600. A video game system, valued at $300, four controllers, valued at $200, and an NCAA ’09 game, valued at $50, were reported missing. The incident happened overnight Friday.
Injury accidents
¢ A 71-year-old Butler, Mo., man was killed Monday morning as he entered Interstate 70 from Kansas Highway 7. Maynard M. Mann was driving a 2004 Pontiac when he crossed the exit lane and drove into a ditch, striking trees about 4:30 a.m. His 59-year-old passenger, Wayne C. Mann, suffered injuries and was taken by ambulance to St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Mo. He was in fair condition Monday night.
¢ A 79-year-old Topeka man was injured on Kansas Highway 10 about 9:45 Monday morning. Sylvester J. Belisle was driving a 1983 Lincoln when he failed to yield to a 2006 Toyota, driven by Robert C. Coffeen, 76, Leawood. Coffeen’s vehicle struck the passenger side of Belisle’s vehicle. Belisle was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released.
