Area Football Roundup: Late field goal propels Eudora

McLouth improves to 2-0, Baldwin tumbles

? With the game tied and Eudora High facing a fourth-and-one, Bryan Kindle kicked a 24-yard field goal with one second left to give EHS a 36-33 football victory over De Soto on Monday.

Eudora led, 26-25, entering the fourth quarter, but De Soto’s Dylan Burford’s three-yard run and Mark England’s two-point conversion put De Soto back in the lead.

After a late Eudora turnover, QB Logan Clark hit wideout Jamel Townswend streaking down the right sideline for 44 yards and a first down inside the Eudora 10-yard line. But two plays later, De Soto fumbled the ball, and Eudora’s William Gadberry recovered with less than a minute to go, setting up the wild finish.

“We had the game, we lost the game, and then we won the game,” Eudora coach Greg Webb said. “Every time I thought we had things going well, we gave it back to them.”
