Artist will display ‘Fundamental Images’

Michael Hager, artist and adjunct art professor at Washburn University, will present “Fundamental Images: Recent Work by Michael Hager” in the Art & Design Gallery at Kansas University. The exhibit will run from Sunday through Sept. 26.

A printmaker, Hager uses discarded objects as starting points for his images. The pictures refer to piles of debris or melted plastic. The most recent work involves the human body. Live models are covered with paint to make body prints. The final images are produced through a highly complicated intaglio process.
