Poet receives state award

Tom Mach of Lawrence recently won the Nelson Poetry Book Award from the Kansas Authors Club.
The award was given last weekend at the club's convention in Dodge City.
Mach was honored for his book "The Uni Verse," which is about the creation of the universe. He also took first place in the narrative verse category for his poem "Inside the Canvas."
