Shania Twain, husband end 14-year marriage

Toronto – Shania Twain and husband-producer Robert “Mutt” Lange are splitting up after 14 years of marriage.

The 42-year-old Canadian country superstar and 59-year-old Lange married in 1993 and have a 6-year-old son named Eja.

Her publicist provided no further details Thursday about the couple’s breakup.

Lange and Twain, best known for her hits “Man! I Feel Like A Woman!” and “You’re Still the One,” recently opened a hiking trail on their property in New Zealand, fulfilling a pact designed to allay fears that wealthy foreigners were snapping up and sealing off the country’s prime real estate.

Lange produced three of Twain’s albums: 1995’s “The Woman in Me,” 1997’s “Come on Over” and 2002’s “Up!”

Anne Heche files for financial relief

San Francisco – A judge Wednesday gave Anne Heche a temporary break from paying child and spousal support to her ex, Coley Laffoon, 34, for their 6-year-old son, Homer, while the court assesses the actress’s claims that she can no longer afford to make the $14,798-a-month payments now that she is unemployed after the cancellation of “Men in Trees.”

“I am continuing to look for work, but I have no offers pending and the impending strike by the Screen Actors Guild reduces my prospects for work even further,” Heche, 38, writes in court papers.

Grant, Hurley win case against photo agencies

London – Two photo agencies have agreed to pay $113,000 to Hugh Grant, his ex-girlfriend Liz Hurley and her husband for taking photos of them vacationing in the Maldives.

Britain’s High Court says The Big Pictures and Eliot Press Sarl agencies apologized Thursday for using a long lens to violate the trio’s privacy while they were at an island resort in October. The pictures appeared in several newspapers.

Grant, Hurley and her husband, Arun Nayar, plan to donate the money to charity.
