Bill Murray’s divorce finalized in S. Carolina

Charleston, S.C. – Bill Murray and his wife of nearly 11 years are divorced.

A judge in Charleston County signed off on the divorce agreement June 13, barely a month after Jennifer Butler Murray asked for the separation. The couple were married in July 1997.

The couple’s four children will live with their mother, while the 57-year-old actor-comedian will have visitation rights and pay child support, according to court papers. Jennifer Murray also will get their home on Sullivans Island, S.C., and a second house in Hemet, Calif.

Other documents detailing the divorce were sealed at the couple’s request.

The court papers were first obtained by the Web site TMZ.com.

Messages left Thursday for attorneys for the Murrays, who had a prenuptial agreement, weren’t immediately returned.

In her original complaint, filed May 12, Jennifer Murray alleged that her husband abused her and was addicted to marijuana and alcohol.

The Post and Courier of Charleston obtained the complaint and attached prenuptial agreement before they were sealed. The prenuptial agreement requires Murray to pay his ex-wife $7 million within 60 days of the divorce.

Murray was a cast member on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live.” His screen credits include the “Ghostbusters” movies, “Caddyshack” and “Groundhog Day.” He received an Oscar nomination for his role in “Lost in Translation.”

After injury, Colbert fights ‘face violence’

New York – With a bruised forehead, Stephen Colbert has found a new cause celebre: fighting the glamorization of “face violence.”

As he did after breaking his wrist last year, Colbert has transformed a real-life injury into a mock crusade. Colbert was injured Saturday, and while he’s been cagey about the cause, he’s made no attempt to hide the scarring between his eyebrows this week on “The Colbert Report.”

In extreme close-up Monday, he detailed the wreckage: “I’ve got stitches up there and it looks like I’m growing a little map of Norway down the side of my face.”

Colbert has declined to say how the injury happened. (His publicist and Comedy Central also declined to comment.) Instead, he has said what’s important is his new responsibility to fight “face violence” in Hollywood films.

Last June, Colbert broke his wrist while running around his set before the taping of a show. The comedian went on to wage a months-long fight for “wrist awareness” and widely circulated “WristStrong” bracelets for the cause. (Proceeds for the $1 bracelets have gone to the Yellow Ribbon Fund, a charity that assists injured service members and their families.)

This week, Colbert has joked that after the wrist injury, he pledged he would never break a fall with his hands.

Colbert has claimed it could have happened by smashing watermelons with his head or by “practicing for a walk-on role in Cirque du Soleil and overestimating the number of French Canadians my forehead would support.”

The Voodoo Experience, which is in its 10th year, will be held Oct. 24-26 at New Orleans’ City Park behind the New Orleans Museum of Art.

Drew Carey orders 45 cross-country pizzas

Parma, Ohio – Drew Carey really, really loves the pizza from Antonio’s – so he’s having UPS deliver dozens of the pies from Ohio all the way to Los Angeles.

The Cleveland native often stops at the Parma pizzeria for a pepperoni slice when he visits town. But this time he placed a tall order – 45 pizza pies – to celebrate Saturday’s season finale of his CBS game show, “The Price is Right.”

The pizzeria’s owners say the order will cost Carey $450. That doesn’t include the steep price of delivering the pizzas thousands of miles away.

McCready charged with violating probation

Franklin, Tenn. – Mindy McCready has been arrested in Tennessee and charged with violating her probation.

Authorities accuse the 32-year-old country singer of falsifying her community service records.

Williamson County Sheriff’s Department officer Charlotte Spencer says McCready turned herself in Monday, posted the $5,000 bond and was released two hours later.

She is on probation for a 2004 drug charge.

Her attorney, Lee Ofman, declined Thursday to comment on the new charge.

A corrections official says McCready will go before the judge who sentenced her, and he will decide what, if any, action to take.
