Jessica Alba gives birth to baby girl

Los Angeles – Add “baby guru” to Jessica Alba’s resume.

The “Love Guru” co-star and her new husband, Cash Warren, are new parents, her publicist Brad Cafarelli said Monday in an e-mail to The Associated Press.

The 27-year-old actress gave birth to a healthy baby girl – Honor Marie Warren – on Saturday, Cafarelli said. He didn’t provide further details.

Alba and Warren became engaged in late December following her announcement that she was expecting a baby with Warren, 31. They met on the set of the 2005 film “The Fantastic Four,” which costarred Alba as the Invisible Woman and employed Warren as a director’s assistant.

Outside of motherhood, this summer Alba joins Mike Myers in “The Love Guru” and will play a lingerie saleswoman who helps turn a loser’s life around in “Meet Bill.”

Charity of Hathaway’s boyfriend investigated

Albany, N.Y. – The state is investigating the charitable foundation of Anne Hathaway’s boyfriend, a spokesman for the attorney general said Monday.

Italian businessman Raffaello Follieri, 29, who dates the “Devil Wears Prada” star, heads the Follieri Foundation, a charity whose work includes vaccinating children in Third World countries.

New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo is heading the probe, Cuomo spokesman Matt Glazer said. He said he could not comment further on the ongoing investigation.

The foundation has not filed IRS tax disclosure forms required from charities, according to a review of records by the Associated Press.

The New York Post, which first reported the investigation, said Hathaway, 25, was previously on the foundation’s board of directors, but it was unclear when or for how long.

Anderson to part with car for PETA

Los Angeles – Pamela Anderson may have a need for speed, but her favorite charity has a need for funds.

That’s why the former “Baywatch” babe is selling her prized Dodge Viper and donating the proceeds to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

Anderson, 40, recently held a private estate sale to benefit the animal organization, and she’s planning to personally oversee the sale of her 2000 Viper, which she customized herself with white racing stripes. The car plays a prominent role in Anderson’s forthcoming E! series, “Pam: Girl on the Loose,” but she admitted it was dangerous for her to own a high-performance vehicle.

“I’m a terrible driver,” she said. “It’s just not a good idea for me to have a Viper.”

Winehouse issues apology for slurs

London – Amy Winehouse denied that her singing of a slur-filled ditty made her a racist Monday, the same day it was learned that her husband – who videotaped the performance – pleaded guilty to assault and other charges that could cost him more jail time.

The video, taken by Blake Fielder-Civil sometime before his arrest late last year and published Sunday by the News of the World, shows Winehouse and another woman sitting on a couch, singing a string of racial epithets to the tune of the children’s song “Head, Shoulders Knees and Toes.”

Fielder-Civil is heard encouraging them to sing it, insisting afterward he “wasn’t recording it … I swear on my life.” The video goes on to show Winehouse passed out on the couch.

Winehouse later stood outside her north London home, telling paparazzi that she was sorry, adding: “I don’t want to play anything down, but I’m the least racist person going.”

Fielder-Civil, 26, was being tried in London on charges of attacking pub landlord James King, and then conspiring with King to have the landlord withdraw as a witness.

Fielder-Civil and three-co-defendants pleaded guilty last week, it was reported Monday.

Winehouse and Fielder-Civil married in Miami in May 2007. He was arrested in November and has been in jail ever since.

Richie gets laugh at daughter’s expense

Santa Monica, Calif. – It’s not easy raising a celebutante. Take it from Lionel Richie.

The singer was accepting the “Icon” honor at Sunday night’s taping of the TV Land Awards, when he got applause and a laugh at daughter Nicole’s expense.

“Forget about surviving 40 years in the music business,” Lionel Richie told the audience. “Just surviving 27 years of Nicole Richie has been a struggle-and-a-half, I want to tell you. I stand here as a survivor, I want you to know, for all the parents out there.”

In 2007, Nicole Richie spent 82 minutes in jail after being convicted of driving under the influence of drugs. She was arrested in December 2006 after witnesses reported seeing her Mercedes-Benz sport utility vehicle headed the wrong way on a freeway in Burbank, Calif.

Nicole, who made a name for herself on Fox’s “The Simple Life” along with Paris Hilton, hasn’t posed for any mug shots lately. Rather, she has been spotted out and about with 3-month-old Harlow, her daughter with Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden.

The sixth annual TV Land Awards show is scheduled to air June 15 on the cable network.
