Topeka ? State Sen. Marci Francisco, D-Lawrence, has been appointed by Gov. Kathleen Sebelius to a panel that will make recommendations on ways to increase energy efficiency.

Francisco will serve on the Kansas Energy and Environmental Policy Advisory Group.

“KEEP’s goal is to help Kansas become more energy efficient and spur economic growth before global climate change further impacts our economy, the environment and the overall quality of life for Kansans,” Francisco said.

The group will have its first meeting Tuesday in Lawrence.
