Arrest warrant issued for missing Marine

? Mexican officials have issued an arrest warrant for a U.S. Marine suspected of killing his pregnant colleague, a U.S. Embassy official said Tuesday.

At least one relative told reporters last week that Cpl. Cesar Laurean visited family members in the area of Guadalajara this month, but left without saying where he was headed.

A U.S. Embassy official, who was not authorized to give a name and spoke on condition of anonymity, said Mexican officials had issued a warrant for Laurean’s arrest for extradition.

The remains of Lance Cpl. Maria Lauterbach, 20, were found with those of her fetus earlier this month in a fire pit in Laurean’s back yard in Jacksonville, N.C. Lauterbach, who had once accused Laurean of rape, had been missing since mid-December. Military investigators are still working to identify the father of Lauterbach’s unborn child, Hudson said.
