This Thing Called 'Writer's Block'
By Tom Mach
It's sort of like lying on your couch watching
TV while the guilt of not writing comes running
through your brain at full gallop
and ideas pounce into your head when you don't even see
them coming. Isn't that write?
I mean you go to a bookstore, blinded
by the kaleidoscope of author offerings,
and you visualize checks made out to you
with lots of zeroes at the end
and writers chauffeured in white limos
and you tingle with indignation
as you murmur "I could have written that."
But you don't
And never will

correct. the best ideas naturally come when you absolutely can't write them down.
I was hoping for a more direct focus on the title subject, the experience of writers' block and not the result, but this is fine. there's a great idea:
write a poem about writers;' block. oh, I can't because I have it, or I don't because I'm posting. does posting count? should it count, or is it mental fast food? it used to be writers' block was the "empty page" syndfrome. now, with virtual documents, there's less texture and geography with the writers' block.
