Brass quartet to perform at KU

Members of the Forzato Quartet liked each other enough during their time at Kansas University they stuck together afterward (even though they’re now in Arizona, Chicago, Wyoming and Arkansas). Then again, maybe they couldn’t find anyone else wanting to play in an ensemble with one euphonium and three tubas. Either way, the Forzato Quartet members return to campus for a concert at 2:30 p.m. today in Swarthout Recital Hall, inside KU’s Murphy Hall. The repertoire will include pieces by John Stevens, Prokofiev, Joe Primrose and the quartet’s own Thomas Szott. Admission is free.
