Free State orchestra, soloists perform tonight

Five students will perform with the Free State Symphony Orchestra in a concert at 7:30 p.m. today at the school auditorium, 4700 Overland Drive.

The soloists:

¢ Demi Renault, soprano, will perform “The Poor Wandering One” from “Pirates of Penzance.”

¢ Maxwell Gregoire, oboe, will perform “The Telemann Concerto” in F minor.

¢ Raquel Gonzalez, soprano and flute, will perform “Elle a fui, la tourtelle,” from “Tales of Hoffman,” by Jacques Offenbach, and “Fantasy for Flute,” by Georges Hue.

¢ Masa Ohtake, trombone, will perform the “Morceau Symphonique” by Felix Guilmant.

The orchestra will open the concert with the “Brahms Academic Festival Overture” under the direction of Lynn Basow.

A reception will follow after the free event.
