Forzato Quartet to perform this month

The Forzato Quartet, composed of Kansas University music graduates, will return to campus Feb. 24 to perform as part of Murphy Hall’s 50th anniversary celebration.

The recital will feature Pat Stuckemeyer on euphonium and Thomas Szott, Andy Chester and Matt McCool on tuba. The program will feature repertoire the group first learned while studying with Scott Watson, professor of tuba-euphonium. Pieces include “Power” and “Diversions,” by John Stevens, “Lt. Kije Suite,” by Prokofiev, “St. James Infirmary,” by Joe Primrose, “Nightingale Sang in Berkley Square,” by Sherwin, and “The Duchess of Malfi,” by Forzato Quartet member Thomas Szott, to name a few.

The performance will take place at 2:30 p.m. at Swarthout Recital Hall on KU’s campus. Admission is free.
