Injury accident

• A Lawrence police officer called for an ambulance Friday night in the 3300 block of Iowa Street so medics could examine a patient after an accident. The patient suffered minor injuries and was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, dispatchers said.

• A 32-year-old Baldwin City man and a 35-year-old Lawrence woman had to be taken to Olathe Medical Center after a three-vehicle wreck Friday morning on Interstate 35 in Olathe.

Benjamin E. France, of Baldwin City, swerved a 2009 Mini Cooper in the northbound lane to avoid another vehicle. Alma D. Calderon, of Lawrence, then swerved a 2003 Toyota sport utility vehicle to avoid the Cooper. The vehicles made contact, and both drivers then lost control. The Cooper then struck another SUV.

Both France and Calderon were wearing seat belts, and they were taken to Olathe Medical Center.
