Lawrence Civic Choir to begin fall auditions

The Lawrence Civic Choir, a community-based singing organization, is gearing up for its fall rehearsal season.

Rehearsals begin Sept. 8 and begin at 7:30 p.m. on Mondays at First Baptist Church, 1330 Kasold Drive. Registration will begin at 7 p.m. Sept. 8 and 15. Dues are $30 per semester.

The choir, which is directed by Steve Eubank, will be preparing for its annual Holiday Concert, which will be at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 13 at Lawrence Free Methodist Church, 3001 Lawrence Ave.

The concert repertoire is scheduled to include “Gloria” by Antonio Vivaldi, “Cherry Tree” by Carol and David Willcocks and “Wassail Song” by Ralph Vaughan Williams, among other pieces.

In addition to its holiday and spring concerts, the choir is adding a new concert to its list this year. A Cabaret performance slated for May will feature Broadway songs presented in a “club” atmosphere.
