Witnesses testify in arson case

A Lawrence woman testified Thursday that she has no doubt who burned her East Lawrence mobile home down earlier this summer.

Kimberly Berry took the stand Thursday in Douglas County District Court.

She accuses her ex-boyfriend of setting the June 10 fire that gutted her trailer in the Harper Woods mobile home park, 2200 Harper St.

Trevor A. Toussaint, 43, Lawrence, is facing arson and burglary charges in connection with the incident.

During a preliminary hearing Thursday, a 10-year-old boy identified Toussaint as the same man he saw sitting on the back porch of Berry’s mobile home before the fire started.

A fire investigator is expected to take the stand Monday morning when the hearing continues.
