To the Champions

Kudos are certainly in order for

A team that’s gone the distance ‘gainst the odds.

No little part of this year’s round-ball squad’s

Success was due to confidence galore,

And endless hours of sharpening their skill

Spurred on by Kansas’ world-class coaching staff

Joining those teams of ’88, and half

A century plus six ago, the thrill

You only get when you have won it all

Has been their apt reward when things got tough.

And, folks for generations will recall

Where they were at when they first saw or heard

KU’s winning the title had occurred

So, now, until next season, that’s enough
