KU student wins book-collecting contest
For the second year in a row, Bailey Pike, a junior studying musicology and Lawrence High School graduate, has taken home first place in the undergraduate division of the Snyder Book Collecting Contest. This contest is organized by the Kansas University Libraries and Oread Books, and is open to all currently enrolled students.
Pike won last year’s contest with her collection “Beyond Sound: Music, Academics, and Allied Fields in 20th-Century Scholarship,” and she took home the top prize this year with her collection, “The Mythology of Mozart.”
Pike’s current collection is on display outside the Oread Bookstore in the Kansas Union. Pike took home the top prize of $600 and a $100 gift card to the Oread Bookstore.
